Dear Sir,
I have the privilege of
sending you my invitation for the inauguration of the building scheme of our Engineering
College by President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, on the 19th February. I have often been
dreaming of inviting you to Karaikudi and bless my "academic adventures" as
Rajaji put it. I shall now content myself by receiving your kind message and good wishes
for the function.
I might be permitted to
mention that in this large campus where three educational institutions - Alagappa College
(Arts & Science), Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering & Technology, and Dr.
Alagappa Chettiar Training College - and the Central Electrochemical Research Institute
are functioning I had the good sense and, perhaps, the good fortune of opening up an
avenue a few years ago called 'Munshi Avenue' to commemorate the Mahotsavam festival, the
practical idea of the brilliant mind of yours. I am happy to state that the Munshi Avenue
is now coming up so beautifully with foliage on either side and prospects of foliage
coming around it as well. I do earnestly look forward to the day when it will be
convenient for you to come round atleast for a day. I hope by then we will be able to
convert certain patches of Munshi Avenue into a hermitage. 1 am looking forward to the
pleasure of meeting you one day when I come north and tender my sincerest felicitations
and receive your blessings. I may be pardoned for mentioning that I am now assiduously and
most profitably pursuing my studies by reading Bharath Vidya Bhavan's book series - a
versatile treasure being added to our already glorious heritage.
